The svn folder does not matter.
Have you verified that the files are intact and not corrupt?
Also have you run the updater on your server?

Yes I have updated everything and checked its all correct. I have looked online and the MISSING: CL_INIT is a error that is not un heard of and is recomended that you delted your GMod files and try again. I will let you know how that goes.

Well fuck. I have no idea why you're having so much trouble with it. Either something wrong with GMod, your download, or your install. The other server owners haven't had trouble with it, so there's something different with your server that's causing an issue. Without going into your server manager, I don't think I could tell you what's wrong.

i had just as much fuckup of a problem as this guy did, if not more. i couldnt even get a vinilla server up atall. the fix was as simple are starting over, only installing hl2 content and garrysmod content, starting the server (it worked) then after that i installed the other gamemodes, started another sandbox to be sure (fine) then got the gamemode in and that worked too.
took me weeks to find out what was wrong and i still didnt discover the issue, i just had to run gmod lonesomely first.

I found out that I am in fact running a Linux server. What should I do?
Right the hosts managed to get the gamemode to star, it was as simple as the G in gamemode had to be g.
Now it runs but the create character menu does not appear.
