I like getting the small parts chemicals and scrap by scavenging, but are there ways to make a lot of materials over time?

If you farm miners and worms you would be able to gain a good amount of resources. It's a lot of work, though. Being a scavenger is the best option unless you want to buy a miner, power generator, and a couple worms. A lot of work involved there.

Worms Cost alot of chems to make and an egg which are rare unless your into scavenging those. miners cost alot of scrap to make which is the most easy and the miner makes both scrap and smallparts. but if your looking for some quick cash, best 2 ways is get out and scavenge or go trading.

The only ways to quick resources take a whole lot of capital to get started. Worm breeding is the most lucrative I think. But to really make it worth while, you have to pump a ton of xp into Animal Husbandry to make it worthwhile, and you risk being out a LOT of money if you don't have them well protected.

The next way I'd say is selling ammo from a vendor. It's pretty consistent, everyone needs ammo, but it's not super high returns, and high competition. You'll have to put xp into Construction to undercut everyone else.

The rest are scavvies with their miners and scavenging. You get pretty good returns for very little investment.

And a Eng you have to worry about compitition alot

Get scavenger skill upgraded it is extremely easier, and I believe you also have a greater chance to drop parts.

Scavenging supplies around the map is the most reliable and often the fastest way to wealth if you invest the time and XP into it. It can get somewhat boring, but it's consistent. On maps like LastHope it can be very profitable to scavenge the tunnels since resource nodes spawn relatively close to each other. Also you can make a tidy profit out of the Cultivator if you're able to invest in several plants and XP investments in Farming. You'll get a large number of oranges and can sell them at the dirt low price of 1 scrap, 1 small part or 1 chem, and still make a large profit just from the sheer volume of sales.
