HL2.exe

Need some help with gamemode related stuff?

HL2.exe

Postby Remnant John » Wed Jul 27, 2011 4:22 pm

so since i started playing PNRP when i join for some unknown reason it skips to sending client info with absolutely NO LAG (which is rare as gmod is supposed to lag while connecting to a server) and then it will do the little loading cursor for windows 7 (which i have) and it goes to desktop and says "hl2.exe" has stopped working. checking for solution and it ALWAYS (i mean always) says it cannot find a reason. this has gotten VERY annoying at times and the only solution i find for it is to not play for maybe 30 minutes or join a deathrun or sandbox server and play for about 10-20 minutes and join pnrp. i have no idea if its the servers fault or if its a bad case of shitty gmod fever -_- any news or good ideas to fix this :?: im also making a link to this in the bugs section so more people see it (eldar/lostinthewired)

please halp me i neeeed this server its my heroin accept less aggressive thanks

I've had this very same problem for a very long time. Longer than I can remember. I send client info and process that as usual, but directly after sending client info my cursor appears and then I get a message "hl2.exe has stopped working" and the program crashes. This does not happen to me on any other servers I play on.. only this one.

The only fixes I know of is A: Map Reset or B: Join a single player game or a different server first, then join the PNRP server.

Oh and Remnant John, that last bit made me LMFAO.

I know this has happened to more people than just us. It happened to postman before, I know. So pretty much it will happen to anyone at random.

I've checked the Steam Support Page regarding the "No Steam Logon" error and it's apparently linked to people not having their router's ports set up to give Steam proper access. The page gives you the numbers for the ports needed, but there were so many that I couldn't be bothered to add them all. I only added the Game Client ones and since then I've not had the "No Steam Logon" message pop up.

Kind of stupid really, for clients to need to toward ports.
