What am I working on?

Just thought I'd post some news, just for those of you who like to see what we're working on. With so much to do, me and eldar rarely get to work on stuff together anymore, so we each try new things and show off to each other. That's generally how most of the features came about! A lot of the the things we tried have never made it into game, so keep in mind, this stuff might not be on the public server. Now that's out of the way, what have I been working on?

A bit of weapony goodness!

Basically a Sa vz. 25, but as a possible replacement for the SMG-LOST. If this works out, I may be doing new models for each of the weapons, and maybe some new weapons as well. That is, if it works out. XD

But what's special about it?
We'll, the idea is that, with parts you make in your inventory, you can add things to the gun! Instead of ironsights, you could use a different attachment, such as an aimpoint projector (the ironsights of the current SMG-LOST for reference of what that is). And for other fun, an underbarrel grenade launcher. Or maybe a combat flashlight in the underbarrel position instead. A foregrip? A bipod? That's the idea behind it, at least. Different mods will effect the weapons (such as a foregrip and deployed bipod increasing accuracy).

What's the catch?
Y'know that picture above? Yeah, that's hours of work. It is extremely time consuming and, depending on bugs and more important new features, is not going to be my constant work. I have other projects in the works to make general gameplay better, so it's on the fence on whether we'll see it soon (or at all sadly). Plus, as I don't do much modeling anymore, it is far from the best job. And I've always struggled with decent textures. Well, I do what I can, I guess. The animations though, that's the fun part! :D I'm good at that!

Depending on how people like this little semi-blog post, I may keep doing these. I've always liked developers of my games keeping me informed on what they're working on. I like to hear their struggles. I like to hear their ideas, even if they don't become part of the final product. Hopefully you like that as well!

Good luck, Survivors!

Id like to see more rugged and archaic looking weapons personally. Things that look as though they literally have been put together by hand using scrap. Good examples would be the weapons from Metro 2033. Such as the "Bastard" Sub-Machine Gun.

Or perhaps the Duplet shotgun.

Perhaps most interesting of all, the pneumatic weapons like the Hellsing and Tihar.

Those should give you a good bit of inspiration on what a Post Nuke made weapon should look and feel like. The Bastard was my favourite gun in Metro which I took all the way through just because it looked and felt so right, despite being weak as shit and unreliable.
