Complaint about Demotion, and why.

So, in gm_disaster_v2, (be aware I had ZERO idea I was respected, and since after the gmod 13 update I never got a chance to peek in again) is when I spawned an e2 that is like a car in a sense. It's a bit fast, I admit, but hounds said it was okay as long as it wasn't too fast. So I parked it along and started to tweak the values down a little, then after helping some guy out with keypads and just wire jazz I was warned about having my thing out as "This isn't a build server" from someone talking through console.

Sure, I slapped on the name of "Nuclear powered wheelbarrow" on it, and I was tweaking a bit, but that doesn't exactly constitute as building. In fact, I made the majority of it on another server anyways so it was a matter of fixing it so it'll be acceptable. After having it out in front of me to see what else I could add to it, I was demoted. Even though whoever was in console said this wasn't a build server, I wasn't building. At all. Tweaking =/= building, and the demotion was a bit harsh too. I didn't even KNOW I was respected until I was demoted. We all thought I was a guest (I had a feeling I was supposed to be respected, because I was already recommended and accepted as such but nobody got around to telling me) and that expression 2 was open to guests then.

For the TL;DR I was demoted for something that isn't relevant, and it seemed too much for something like that. Especially when it wasn't so much of a bad thing. I'm not the only one slapped in the face for making something that isn't a jeep or a jalopy.

A jalopy with a turret and a solar panel strapped to it is canon, yet being able to make a motorized wheelbarrow isn't canon? I was actually about to add something onto it that would fix that whole error if that was the case. Despite that, the demotion was uncalled for. Whoever was in the console at that time was already uptight as it is, because I saw him yelling at two guys really going at it in OOC just as I was joined in.

i was in the game at the time this happened and the person on rcon at the time was crazy. i admit his car was a bit overpowered but after i instructed him to change that he was hot on the case to fix it. his attention to do as i said is no reason to remove his status as respected inface he should be rewarded for his egerness to do what i said . this should be no problem and i see this being solved in no time.

I was On when this happened and I don't see why he was demoted he was not even driving it. I don't think he should lose a rank over somthing so minor.

I was the person in RCON who told you to stop spawning the contraption. I told you that if you continued spawning it that your respected rank would be removed. I guess you didn't see that message because you spawned it again. Doesn't matter if you were tweaking it, I told you not to spawn it period. You didn't listen, so your rank was removed.

And yes, it's not a build server, you must build contraptions that fit the RP, and driving around in a wheelbarrow that floats, or whatever is not RP friendly. One more thing. Hounds is a normal admin. Even though he thought it was acceptable, dragoon and I didn't think so, so we went ahead and told you to stop anyway.

Also, speaking of irrelevance, Jalopies, Solar Panels, and Turrets are all legit tools in the game. You have no room to say that using those in combo is not part of the RP. A motorized / floating / nuclear / whatever wheelbarrow is not part of the RP. That's where people go too far with E2 and that is where it counts as something that belongs in a build server.

Your demotion is staying. You might get it back later in the future if I see you building more RP-friendly contraptions.

I was actually saying I was going to make it RP friendly, but you acted way to fast before it could happen. I was just using the model as a base so I can add on to it. That's why I was right on trying to make it better. I said I was trying to make it so.

Yeah, I had asked Xanuch to remove it a few times before anything happened, telling him it was not very RP friendly. He did not comply after I had told him to remove it, so I removed it myself. And although I was not the one who demoted you, you should listen to admins even when you think you can "tweak it" after we ask you nicely to remove it.

Other cars made by people are fine as long as they are RP appropriate.

About the jalopy and turrets strapped to it, the way it's attached in no way seems really all that fitting. That's what I mean by that

I was driving it yes, but you told me to stop building AFTER I stopped driving it. Hounds said to fix it and make it RP friendly, so thats what I was doing the rest of the time. I had a part time in hand of helping some guy with wire too, so it seemed kinda difficult.

The demotion will stay. I'm not going to argue about this. We told you to stop spawning it, you did not listen. If you keep arguing on the forums you will wind up getting banned on the live server.

We're throwing some conflicting messages out here. I don't see why he couldn't work on his car to make it a bit more RP friendly. Seems fair, especially after an admin told him that it'd be fine after making it acceptable to the server. While it's true he should have just put it away and started anew when he was told it just wouldn't make the cut, a demotion seems a little much when a kick would have been sufficient to get the message.

Up to you, but I'd probably reconsider the demotion.
