turret programmer again

Postby DevilsNipple » Tue Nov 27, 2012 1:54 pm

ok so the turret programmer seemed to be working wonders untill we noticed that people on the white were still being shot, even jamie the owner of the turret was being shot himself.
he changed it to blacklist instead and it didnt seem to change much, the turret just went on another wild kill spree, seemed to just pick anyone and start shooting weather on the list or not. some people in the list to be killed were sometimes ignored too.

we will try to recreate this bug again to see if it re does it or if it was a one times thing.

still though might need checking out!

Goofy NPC AI strikes again.

Ya, will need to do more testing to find out where this is going wrong.

I do know it generally focuses on one target at a time, and during initial testin git would prefer to attack zombies before attacking a player.

jamie had an idea of setting a priority if possible. so if your using it for inside a base against people you can toggle it to priority players so it will shoot players before people, and vice versa.

He may allready have the player priority higher, not sure.

It may all depend on how the Garrys Mod NPC AI god feels like.

I tried doing a priority thing with the strength factor on the relationship, but it doesn't quite work that way, sadly. No way to give it real priorities, it seems to target NPCs first, then PCs.

On the AI wonkyness, not sure why it'd do that. It clears all that shit up when you switch from white-black list. Best way to fix our little killing sprees would to be pick it up and put it back down if you see issues.
