vehicles breakdown / breaking into cars

perhaps cars need a 60 second breakdown like lockers? and on that note there, perhaps breaking into a car with a crowbar swep of sorts? or maybe just E like lockers

Engineer crafted lockpicks to only break into locked cars (just unlocking them no ownership crap). Make it have like a base percentage of 10 and make a skill like [Lockpicking] or [Klepto] to increase it to like 40% max at level 6.
Maybe give the action of lockpicking a loud sound or a percentage chance depending on level of skill??
Maybe make the skill scavenger only class? Would be interesting with lower health, but be able to run away if caught with better speed.

The 60 sec breakdown doesn't seem too bad, also maybe do the 60 sec breakdown time for the vendor?
Been seeing too many people just using the car or vendor for personal storage to cheat the breakdown time and doing an instant pick up.

Well it's true, the car inventory is the only inventory that still can't be broken into besides the vendor. I think that if this gets implemented it would be better to require a tool as this thread has suggested, because pressing E on it would be just too easy for a car, ya know?

Edit: What dragoon posted: Lockpicks. That would be a cool, alternative way to open locked doors, and hell, maybe even make it so that you require them to break into any storage. That would be cool.

Breaking into cars, thats a maybe, if we do this it would be like stockpiles and such. I do not really see making it so people can acually loose items though. We have to balance how risky something is with safty.

We are still discussing a system of being able to "steal" tools, vehicles, doors, and stuff like that. Nothing is set in stone yet. We're still working on it. It's very difficult to find any way of making it so you can take items from cars/stockpiles/ect without making it too easy. Stealing emplaced tools is just as difficult to design a system for which gives players a decent sense of security.

Long story short, these systems are still being designed, and are no where near to getting code time. We would like to dedicate some time to it, but we just don't know what we're doing yet.
