A bunch more new ideas

I had several more ideas, and this list is a bit larger, so i decided to make it its own topic lol.

1) The shaped charges serve very little purpose, so what if you could use them the way they are used in HL2 DM, and drop them on the floor and remote detonate them? Itd be a useful tactic fgor someone pursued by an antlion guard who ran out of ammo.

2) There a a couple of explosive props from episode two, I had informed posty a (long) while back and he blacklisted them, but what if you could create them in game like the other ones? I just figured that the list is short and might a few additions couldnt hurt :P

3) In communities, what if a level 3 has the option to make "squads" within the community? Helping to divide larger communities into smaller and more manageable sub-groups.

4) Also in communities, what if there was a "material share" option, meaning if i have 60 scrap on my person, but my friend needs 10 more scrap in order to build an object, it will automatically share my materials with him?

5) There are props and wire tools that can do this, however due to the fact that not all players are able/capable, and that this is an RP server, and not a build, What if there were certain tools that one could use to improve their shelter?
-ladders
-Lights/beacons
-doorbells
-etc.

6) Scientists can make various explosive props: What if the scientist could also manufacture a detonator of some sort, so that the props will not blow up until activated? Even if its just placing a shaped charge ontop of a bunch of barrels, itd still be an intresting and useful addition.

7) What if on the wastelander radar, members of each community would show up as a different color, or shape?
Such as seeing everybody within your own group appear as a triangle(or diffrent color dot) on the radar?

8) An option to use the radio in a way so that people standing nearby a player with a radio will hear it.
ex:
Lord Rahl is on channel 1171 with Crazykid. I'm out scavenging but Crazykid is at the base with Lostinthewired, Lost doesnt have a radio. Crazy can "turn his radio on speaker" and even though Lost has no radio, he can hear me through Crazy's Radio.

Or maybe a seperate tool that works in this way, such as a radio reciever that i can place in one spot and select a frequency-
The reciever will then talk as though i was there, so everyone in range of the reciever can hear it.

9) Would it be difficult to code an npc/entity that flys and attacks you? Like a bloodthirsty Crow or something? It'd make for a fun and interesting challenge, and considering the shortage of food involved in a post apocalyptic environment, such a thing could theoretically happen :P

10) What if communities could assign "territories" of a sort, So that while a player is on, and building a base, A certain radius out from the base is that groups "territory." Thats mainly for RP purposes but from a game-level standpoint, it could prevent others from building within the radius, or prevent NPC spawning, Or cause NPC's to gravitate towards the territory in an attempt to kill players.

Thats all for now, I think i had a couple really good ideas on this one so if you read them please voice any reactions you may have! Thanks!

1) i dunno about this one, seems like it could be used as an all around raid weapon, which i would not enjoy one bit :P

2) i agree :geek:

3) i'd love this idea, as my community is very large, this would definately help, maybe you could also assign a sort of "title" or rank to a person? along with nameable squads
i really like to customize things

4) i wouldn't mind this, but what happens if the server is laggy and two people try to make beans at the same time?

5) i really don't think these are necessary, most every person knows how to make a ladder, and a beacon (it's just one prop!)
doorbells? i dunno really, would a squatter base have a doorbell?

6) that would be cool, as i like to make mortars and explosives often

7) i wouldn't mind this, i mean, i rarely play as wastelander

8) that would be pretty cool, maybe have it inside the radio menu? like, beside the "Set Radio Frequency" button? "Turn on Speaker"
Or maybe a seperate tool that works in this way, such as a radio reciever that i can place in one spot and select a frequency-
The reciever will then talk as though i was there, so everyone in range of the reciever can hear it.
that would be pretty cool too, as then you wouldn't have to waste so many small parts just so 6 people can talk to one person across the map

9) i guess that'd be cool, but it would be NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to hit a crow with lag, specifically the lag on PNRP

10) that would be cool, but then a minge group could just set the whole map as their territory, could they not?

OH quick addition

11) What if tools/veichles could be put into the world and placed under a group ownership, this way a veichle can be used by all members of a community, or so a radar can be syncronized to 5 different players' HUD.
This would be another thing that would help to add to the whole "Group mentality" thing I've been striving to establish.

And Remant John, On your reactions to 9 & 10:
9- Yeah it would be difficult, but i just had to throw the idea out there just in case its possible ;P
10- Well there would have to be certain parameters, such as only a certain amount of space could be designated,
and it would have to involve alot more people than a 3 player community. Surely there are ways to regulate it.

They always were supposed to be limited purpose. Raiding use (to blow down doors), and anti-mount explosives. Maybe we 'll add something to it, but that's pretty much their purpose. In the future, they may get the ability to destroy props, but that's a maybe.

Lord Rahl wrote:2) There a a couple of explosive props from episode two, I had informed posty a (long) while back and he blacklisted them, but what if you could create them in game like the other ones? I just figured that the list is short and might a few additions couldnt hurt :P

We can. It's not terribly hard. Just keep in mind you can't put those in your inventory. I don't know if/when we'll get to it if we feel like doing it.

Lord Rahl wrote:3) In communities, what if a level 3 has the option to make "squads" within the community? Helping to divide larger communities into smaller and more manageable sub-groups.

Notice that titles are currently in the works. Yes, they will be custom. Yes, people will be able to see them.

Lord Rahl wrote:4) Also in communities, what if there was a "material share" option, meaning if i have 60 scrap on my person, but my friend needs 10 more scrap in order to build an object, it will automatically share my materials with him?

That sounds like a lot of work for very little reward. I'll take note of it, but, tbh, this will probably never be done.

When we do the electricity system, these sort of things will be created (or modified) so people can use them, but they take power generation.

Maybe. Interesting idea, to be sure. Maybe an after-release addition, not sure.

Lord Rahl wrote:7) What if on the wastelander radar, members of each community would show up as a different color, or shape?

Depends on what eldar feels is appropriate. Makes some sense, I guess, but at the same time, the radar wasn't really supposed to tell you much. Just that you know someone is coming, or there's enemies up the way.

I plan on trying to add a tool that you set a series of frequencies (such as 400-450), and it listens in. Possibly broadcasts as well. It's for a bit of PvP and espionage. Everyone nearby will be able to hear it. I assume you could use it for this as well.

Well, we have issues with flying enemies. Half the time, they require air NPC nodes. The other half, they need ground. The other invisible retarded half, it needs both. You will probably NOT see a flying NPC.

Maybe, interesting idea. Not sure how it'd be implemented, but interesting idea none-the-less. I'll add it to my fuck-around-with-it list.

I think Shaped Charges should have a little more UMF to em. it takes about 15 or more to take down a mound. and if there a little stronger they should still have the exact same effect on doors.
