Dropable Resources

i was building an automated shop for PNRP today, and i though wow, i wish you could drop resources.

then i thought, what about collision issues with the resources?

i came up with the conclusion, that maybe you could use a box (the prop from HL2) and have it act like a (non wire) button and it could read
[x number of resources] [resource]

example:

look at a box in front of your doorstep,
it says:
30 Scrap
they also left a note that said "from a friend! :3"
just kidding that last part, but you get my drift.

Good idea? :|

This reminds me of an old gamemode i used to play. It used money instead of resources, but it had a safe to store money in. Once the money hit the box, it would automatically be transferred into the safe, and then when you hit E, you could take a set amount out. It would make using miners easier, if what you are talking about is the same as what I said. Just put the miner on top of the box and you're good to go. Also, maybe if the safe is not yours, then to get in it would be similar to a stockpile, just a shorter time before it breaks. Thanks for reminding me of this.

Won't be much need for this if/when the Devs finish the vendor tool. But I agree, it would be nice to turn some of your resources into material wealth. If only for the role playing purposes.

Well, we'll see if it's relevent still. I have some ideas rolling around in my head that I'll throw at eldar and see what he likes when I get back.
