Weapon Ideas.

Although you have said that you need a modeler, and thats the main reason there arent more guns, I just figured I put ideas out there for anyone who is willing for the task.

1) A scientist can make a gun that runs off of Chemicals! (Ar2 model, maybe firing rate, medium damage, maybe more kickback.)

2) Re-activate gravity gun launch? Seriously its soooooo annoying not being able to legit use the gravity gun. :lol:

3) A crowbar, I've been shot down on this before, but hear me out:
-its more wastelandish then an army-grade combat knife.
-for those who don't own css, but still love pnrp, itd be great.
-Make both of them manufacturable for a certain amount of scrap: You still start with the knife, but you can spend a bit of scrap to get an equally powerful replacement (the crowbar), that just looks better for a wasteland setting, and if you change your mind, you can always get the knife back by spending that tiny bit of scrap again.
-I don't know if this would be difficult to do, but it seems like a good idea to me. idk why.

4) This idea is "out there" but I'll say it anyway:
A crossbow, or normal bow: the arrows can be manufactured for a very high price, but also be reusable.

5) I noticed there are 2(soon 3) rifles, several automatic weapons, a few handguns, but only one shotgun. I would probably use a shotgun more often if there were a few more to choose from.
-A hunting-style shotgun would be an amazing addition :P

6) A hunting style rifle would also be a cool addition.

7) Would it be hard to make a default melee weapon for each class?
-Crowbar for Engineers, Frying Pan for cultivators, a junk-style (bottle/plank) for scavengers, knife for wastelander, and.... Idk anything for scientist quite yet, but I'll think of something. :D

Anyway. I understand pnrp doesnt have many weapon modelers, but i just figured these ideas were worth saying. : :mrgreen:

I do agree that there should be more weapons, but the devs have to recode them so they are balanced for the game. As it is has been said many times before, I believe Eldar wants to keep the downloads for the server at a minimum, so I don't know about custom weapons.
For the melee weapons, right now, everyone should start with a crowbar and then upgrade to the knife. If every class has a different starting melee weapon, the scientist can has a computer card or something, or maybe a chunk of a LCD monitor?
Keep making more ideas, that is what this forum needs!

1) Instead of a high tech AR2 for the chemical weapon, how about a flamethrower? Much lower tech and you can imagine it being easier to build and maintain in a wasteland environment.

2) I too would like to see the Gravity Gun reactivated. Better yet, removing it from the stock weapon load out and make it into another Scientist weapon. An expensive one at that, so then you don't need to worry about 10 minute griefers logging in to try and prop kill everyone.

3) I'd like to see a variety of melee weapons available. If only for the visual aspect. I do remember someone mentioning maybe having a rusty lead pipe as the standard melee weapon? Could have other things like fence posts, boards with nails in them, old baseball bats. Anything the devs can get a model for basically.

4) A crossbow/long/shortbow is another good idea for a Post Nuke setting, since as you say the ammo is reusable. To balance this out, make it have a weak damage, though if possible give it a large headshot bonus, since if you shoot anything in the head its going to go down if its not armored...

5) MOAR SHOOTGONS! I love me some buckshot. A double barrel or conventional pump action would be welcome additions to the shotgun class of weapons. Maybe a sawn off too for Mad Max fans.

6) This one I don't really see getting added since there's not a lot of "hunting" in the true sense of the word. And I don't call pot shotting zombies in the headcrab when you're bored on guard duty "hunting". Deffinetly could use some more rifles though.

7) I don't like the idea of limiting a class to a particular melee weapon. It would be fun to have the frying pan and such but I don't think it should be limited to any particular class.

And yes, although keeping downloads to a minimum is a good idea, it also can severely limit and hamper the enjoyment of a server that could obviously use a little more. I don't think anyone would mind waiting an extra two minutes for a download, so long as it meant the server they're about to play is that little bit better for it.
